For context, I'm 25 and still live with my parents. I work full time and been trying to take college courses on the side. I try to unwind and watch a few shows as a way to escape.
I'm very protective of this because it is something that I enjoy. It is a break from reality once in a while.
The problem is this, I can never be mindful because of the thought of my parents barging in at an awkward scene. I couldn't care less of what pops up. But my parents have a vastly different opinion They're very prude to such things and it'll make an awkward explanation lmao.
It's like that meme of the awkward scenes pop up the moment where your parents walk in.
Because of that anxiety lingering on, I can never make the time to watch an episode or two with my family around. I hope to get my own place and just simply watch in peace.
I'm afraid of becoming a stereotype. I'm very self conscious of how people view me so I put so much effort into hiding it even from a close friend.
Have you ever felt this way? How do you guys enjoy what you watch while you're under the same roof with your family?
