I went to Numazu last week and stayed at the Yasudaya Ryokan(Chika’s house), which was a dream come true for me. Had a blast, the city was filled with all kinds of LLSS content and the scenery was genuinely stunning!! I was able to cover most of the major locations in about 1.5 days. Would recommend to everyone! I have all kinds of funny stories and observations haha. Feel free to ask for any recommendations 🙂

How did you book Yasudaya btw? I'm planning to visit again this year and really want to stay there this time

Numazu is still thriving(well, at least the anime side is LOL). It’s a rather working-class, blue collar place and it was amusing to see it clash with the Love Live stuff plastered everywhere.

Booking the Ryokan is a super convoluted and messy process. There are a billion ways to book it and almost all are inaccessible to foreigners. I ended up booking through Agoda iirc. The proprietors were super accommodating to us! There were also a handful of other foreign groups there, American I believe.

Well aside from Aqours stuff Numazu is a really chill town. I walked all around Numazu and Uchiura trying to photograph all the Find our Numazu spots and it was so peaceful. That's why I fell in love with Numazu esp because its hard to find peace like that where i live (city born and raised XD).

I know Yasudaya booking process is hella convoluted thats why im asking here haha. How long before the trip did you book the ryokan? Because right now I don't see rooms available for my selected dates.

Awesome pics!! The desserts at Shougetsu look amazing! I was in Numazu in October but missed out on getting a dessert there and went to Grandma instead lol. What was your favorite thing you saw on your pilgrimage?

Hmm, if I have to talk about my favourite things in Numazu I’ll split them into LL and non-LL things.

For LL-related stuff, it HAS to be the sheer amount of fans there and their dedication. I was there on a normal Sunday, yet even up till midnight there were groups of fans, both Japanese and foreign, coming up to Mito beach every hour to take pictures and soak in the scenery. A Japanese group saw me on the beach, shouted “Love Live??”Without knowing any Japanese, I yelled back yes and they threw me a huge thumbs up. The next day, I woke up to find at least 10 aqours written on the sand HAHA.

For non LL-related things, I really enjoyed the streets just east of the port observatory tower. The whole area where Numazu Burger used to be(rip) turns into a wholesome food street on weekends, and despite not being a large city the small area was bustling with people and lots of really good seafood.

That’s all so great to hear!!! I had a similar experience at Mito beach, I thought I would have to write Aqours in the sand myself and there were already about 10 “Aqours” written😂 I also went to the port area where Numazu burger was!! I had some of the best orange juice I ever had in my life and some amazing strawberry daifuku!! I’m glad you had such a wonderful time, I’m so glad LL fans are still showing out to Numazu 🙏🙏

I was in Numazu last week too! Was amazing seeing all of those spots, but also Uchiura is just straight up the most beautiful place I've ever traveled to. I spent 5 days there, and it still didn't feel like enough(although a large part of that was cause I tried to get as many of the Find Our Numazu shots as I could and was way too obsessive about them)

Also, wasn't sure if that house was actually You's house since it was at the same location but looked nothing like it did in the anime, but I guess it is haha

Same here! I was genuinely blown away by Uchiura, I spent my sunset here and woke up extra early to catch the sunrise on the beach and in Mito. I actually got THE best room in the whole ryokan! I would have easily stayed another night if it weren’t for my packed schedule.

I don’t think it’s actually You’s house, hers looks like a standard Japanese home while this is very Western-inspired. However, it is the same location and the owner absolutely leans into it, so hey it’s her house in my heart!

Any stores in Numazu you could recommend for merch?

I suppose those small local items in Yasuda inn or other local shops within Aqours' things, especially acrylic products, shouldn't be too expensive? （LOL）

I don’t remember seeing any acrylic products outside the train station and the Gamers, however there was a TON of local everyday products with Aqours tie-ins. They were priced about the same price or slightly higher than their normal equivalents. Iirc there were: -Bread -Tea -Oranges -Fruit juice Personally, I bought a pack of Noppo bread and tea, cleaned the packaging and brought them home.

The rooftop of the arcane Rakuun at the south of JR is open in winter. It’s where Brightest Melody takes place. Also Ashitaka sport park for Eikyu hour, bus only stops there on the weekends

So amazing how much effort many anime makers put into accurately depicting RL sites.

And despite their withdrawal from live tours, Aq's still as present as ever.
